Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Cherry Dr. Pepper
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the Cherry Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Step 2: Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
- Step 3: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the leftover marinade.
- Step 4: Grill the chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Step 5: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For optimal storage, keep any leftover Cherry Dr. Pepper Grilled Chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain its flavor and juiciness.
- When reheating, consider using a microwave or skillet on low heat to avoid drying out the chicken; adding a splash of water can help retain moisture.
- This grilled chicken pairs wonderfully with a fresh garden salad or creamy coleslaw, making for a delicious summer meal that’s sure to impress!
- For a chef's tip, marinate the chicken overnight if possible, as this will enhance the flavors and tenderness, resulting in a more mouthwatering dish.
