Indulge in the savory goodness of Lasagna Stuffed Chicken, where tender chicken breasts cradle a creamy blend of ricotta and mozzarella.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  3. Step 3: Carefully slice a pocket into each chicken breast without cutting all the way through. Season the outside of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: Stuff each chicken breast with the cheese mixture you prepared in Step 2. Use toothpicks to secure the openings if needed.
  5. Step 5: Place the stuffed chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and top them with marinara sauce. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 25 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C) and the cheese is bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For optimal storage, keep any leftover Lasagna Stuffed Chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • When reheating, gently warm the chicken in the oven at 350°F (175°C) covered with foil to retain moisture, or microwave it in short bursts to avoid drying out.
  • Serve your stuffed chicken alongside a simple side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal that complements the rich flavors of the dish.
  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped spinach or sun-dried tomatoes into the cheese filling for a delicious twist on this classic recipe.
