Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup orange sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped green onions, egg, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Step 3: Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 4: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
- Step 5: While the meatballs are baking, heat the orange sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through. Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the warm orange sauce until well coated before serving.
- Step 6: Serve the orange chicken meatballs warm, garnished with additional chopped green onions if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store leftover orange chicken meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze them for longer storage.
- When reheating, pop the meatballs back in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes to ensure they stay moist and regain their crispy exterior.
- These meatballs pair wonderfully with steamed rice or a fresh salad, and you can drizzle extra orange sauce on top for an added burst of flavor.
- For a juicier texture, consider adding a tablespoon of milk or broth to the meat mixture before baking; this helps keep the meatballs tender while still allowing them to hold their shape.
